MEET THE CENTER DIRECTOR:
We are pleased to have Ms. Heather Hayes as our Center Director. Ms. Hayes joined our staff in 2007 as the Assistant Director and was promoted in 2008 to the position of Center Director. Heather brings over 13 years of early child hood experience, both in the classroom and in administrative roles, specializing in Infant and Toddler Care. Ms. Hayes has her degree in Early Childhood Education. We are very excited about the enthusiasm, experience and great ideas Heather brings to our center!

Ms. Hayes has achieved some amazing feats here at Children's Discovery Place including THREE consecutive Step Up To Quality Awards, two consecutive years of PERFECT licensing inspections and the implementation of countless policies, programs and events!

MEET THE CONSULTANT:
We are very pleased to congratulate Beverley Sherrill on her new management role at Children's Hunger Alliance, a non-profit organization that coordinates food programs for young children. Beverley will continue to assist Children's Discovery Place in a Consulting capacity. Please see a few words below from Beverley about her background and what she brings to the center:
"Providing and supporting quality early care and education for all children has been a major focus of my career. I have a master's degree in child development from the University of Illinois, 17 years experience as a center director and 15 years experience as an NAEYC validator. I have been involved in numerous early childhood initiatives at the state and local level. As the Consultant of the Children's Discovery Place at Polaris I will put policies in place to assure quality programming for your children. I have 3 grown children and a grandson in Wyoming." MEET THE OWNER:
Children's Discovery Place at Polaris is owned by Rochelle, a mother of two children. Rochelle founded Children's Discovery Place to create a better child care center for the community and her own children. Please see an introduction from Rochelle below:
"After much research and experiences as a parent of young children, I decided that higher quality child care was needed in the Columbus area. I really wanted to create a center I was happy to have my own children attend. After several years of research and work, I was very excited to open Children's Discovery Place at Polaris in early 2007. The whole concept is a smaller, more child friendly environment as opposed to the large scale institutional setting that seems more common place these days. Children can spend a considerable amount of time in a center so it should be as homey and loving as possible, without sacrificing education and enrichment. What we have created here is a small, intimate surrounding providing children with confidence and comfort; combined with a high quality educational program and a highly educated teaching staff. With our low ratios every child receives the individual attention he/she deserves. We have combined the best of everything in our one-of-a-kind facility. I am so proud of the Quality Awards and extremely complimentary recommendations from local experts that we have received in such a short period of time. The quality of care and education is simply a step above and I am so pleased to bring my own children to Children's Discovery Place." Rochelle
